HYPE

After a psychotic break, a talent manager attempts to rebuild his company with the help of a former pet agent, a faded movie star, his assistant, and a ditzy secretary.

HYPE is a weekly, 30-minute dramedy set in a fictional city similar to LA. Think ENTOURAGE from both the agents, and talent perspective.

The series follows ETHAN TAYLOR, head of TAYLOR TALENT MANAGEMENT (T.T.M), a once a prolific talent manager as he tries to piece his life back together after suffering a breakdown.

Just several months prior, Ethan was on top of his game with a bulging rolodex and full client list. His silver tongue kept his clients happy, and more importantly, his wallet full.  Unfortunately, for Ethan, he hit a bit of a rough patch and his wife left.  Combine this with prima donna actors and a habit he developed for exceeding the recommended dosage, and he snapped, and found himself at a retreat in Tibet.

After his month long stint in rehab, he was ready to face the world again. But on returning to work he found his staff had left and taken everything that wasn't nailed down, and his clients had found themselves new representation. Ethan, with his pride at stake, vows to rebuild his agency and begrudgingly has to hire new staff and acquire some talent.

There's NINA, an agency sent receptionist, who not so much as her head in the clouds, but just outside the stratosphere. Ethan also finds he unwittingly hired a new agent, the seemingly levelheaded and competent, SOPHIA GRAY, while he was in a "questionable" state of mind. The problem with Sophia is that her clientele before joining T.T.M, was exclusively animals, and Ethan fears that dealing with clients who aren't paid in puppy chow, might pose a problem.

To Ethan's surprise, Sophia pulls through and even has a client on the hook, DENVER WALLACE, an actor with his head perpetually stuck up his ass. Denver was once a prolific movie star with a notoriously troubled and manic past that ultimately cost him his lucrative career. He now finds work in made-for-TV movies and teaching wannabe actors.

HYPE is dramedy that looks at the strange world of media both on, and behind the scenes. It focuses on the identifiable struggles of each character and combines them with viewers' perception of celebrity and the good, and bad that comes with fame.
